Dub, dahinter verbirgt sich eine ganze Welt aus Echo und Hall, aus psychedelischen Riddims und vor allem aus Bass.

„Dub ist eine Musik-Produktionsweise, die in den späten 1960er und frühen 1970er Jahren auf Jamaika entstand. Roots-Reggae-Songs wurden als Rohmaterial verwendet, mit Effekten versehen und neu abgemischt. Heutzutage werden die dazu verwendeten Techniken von vielen Musikproduzenten verwendet, insbesondere im Bereich elektronischer Tanzmusik.“

Angefangen beim Roots Reggae in den 70ern über den UK Dub bis hin zu modernen Spielarten.

Sosnowka Dub sind ein Aachener Kollektiv mit gemeinsamer Liebe für Offbeat, Bass und Echo.
Sie spielen – wenn nicht psychedelisch instrumental – Musik die von den Stilen „Roots“ und „Conscious“ Reggae abstammt und sich textlich mit Rastafari und Spiritualität sowie „bewussten“ (engl. „conscious“) im Sinne von „verantwortungsbewussten“ weltlichen Themen beschäftigen. Die Selektion reicht dabei von den Wurzeln des Dub in Jamaika bis hin zu frischen Trieben des UK Dub oder Steppa, und auch psychedelische Experimente mit Jazz, Psy- und Punkrock oder elektronischer Musik dürfen nicht fehlen.

Man kennt ihn wahrscheinlich eher als eine Hälfte von Bohbhi, einem kompromisslosen Technoduo aus Aachen.
Alleine jedoch tritt er eher mit chilligen und basslastigen Sounds aus den Genres Dub und Oldschool Dubstep auf.

► What is Dub? ◄
Dub music is a world of echo and reverb, of psychedelic riddims, and most importantly bass.

„Dub is a genre of music that grew out of reggae in the 1960s, and is commonly considered a subgenre, though it has developed to extend beyond the scope of reggae. At the DUB PUB we invite you on a journey through this world. We will start from roots reggae in the 70s, continue with UK dub and finally arrive at modern styles.

Sosnowka Dub is a collective from Aachen who want to share their love for offbeat music, bass and echo.
Their record collection consists of psychedelic instrumental music as well as styles derived from „roots“ and „conscious“ reggae with lyrics about Rastafari and spirituality, or consciously about profane topics like war, life in the ghetto or (present-day) refugee crisis. Their selection ranges from the roots of dub in Jamaica to the sprouts of UK dub and steppa and includes psychedelic experiments with jazz, psy and punk rock or electronic music.

You probably know him better as one half of Bohbhi, an umcompromising techno duo from Aachen.
On his own, however, he presents some rather relaxed and bass heavy sounds from the genres dub and oldschool dubstep.
