Drone music, drone-based music, or simply drone, is a minimalist genre of music that emphasizes the use of sustained sounds, notes, or tone clusters called drones.
Noise refers to a music (sub)genre that largely or completely replaces classic elements of music such as pure tone or sound with noise.
A sound collage is a sound document that is created from a compilation of fragments or samples of underlying pieces of music and recordings. Similar to the related visual genre of collage, new effects can develop that are not yet contained in the individual components, even if they are recognizable as a whole.
