Information on recent nazi activities around the Autonomous Centre

In the past few days there have been several incidents where Neo-Nazis have been seen around the AZ.
As this poses a serious thread, we are addressing this publicly and ask our guests to be especially watchful at this time.
Please stay alert on your way to and from the AZ. If possible, don’t go alone and please inform us if there are any threads or suspicious incidents.
You can always write to us via social media oder e-mail or speak to someone from the AZ team directly.
We take these incidents seriously, even if the most recent cases have remained attempts at intimidation.

When it comes to threats, the path to physical violence is usually not far away, as the history of the AZ shows. The list of attacks on anti-fascists, AZ visitors and supposed leftists in the past is long, and the chronology of Nazi violence in our region is almost endless.
Just this week were sad anniversaries: on January 6, 2014, there was an attack by around 20 neo-Nazis and right-wing hooligans who tried to force their way into the AZ and could only be fended off with resolute resistance. And on January 9, 2016, it was also determined anti-fascist self-protection that prevented worse when a group of neo-Nazis paid a visit to the AZ on their way back from a Pegida demonstration in Cologne.

The fact that neo-Nazis are hanging around in the immediate vicinity of the AZ is therefore a threat that we must take seriously. Especially in view of the fact that neo-Nazis want to organise a march in Aachen on 18 January, the explicit target of which is the AZ.

But we will not be intimidated by neo-Nazis and will stick together!
